Expert Witness Services
ALMC is one of the most established providers of expert witness services in the UAE, uniquely positioned in the region to support both arbitration and litigation proceedings. Our founder, Mr. Mohamed Al Marzooqi, is a Certified Expert Witness in the UAE Courts, fully qualified to act as an expert witness on the disputes that typically arise on major construction and real estate projects, backed by over a decade of dedicated expert witness experience and 25-plus years in the construction industry more broadly.
What sets ALMC apart is the depth of technical grounding behind the opinions we give. Mr. Al Marzooqi trained as an electrical engineer, holding a BSc in Electrical Engineering from the University of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and built his early career in senior engineering roles, including Head of Power Projects for the Dubai Ministry of Electricity and Water and Senior Electrical Engineer at the Department of Civil Aviation, before moving into expert witness and arbitration practice. This first-hand engineering background, supported by ALMC’s wider multidisciplinary team of engineers and consultants, underpins expert opinions that emphasize construction, hospitality, real estate, IT, power and energy, and electrical engineering matters, giving clients a witness who has genuinely worked on the systems and projects in dispute, not simply reviewed them on paper.
Engaging an expert witness early, ideally as soon as a dispute is foreseeable, gives clients valuable insight into the circumstances behind a dispute and how to prevent it from escalating into lengthy litigation. Our expert witness services include:
- Independent technical assessments of a site or project
- Review and analysis of project documentation
- Guidance on what documentation should exist (and what may be missing)
- Advice on what to look for during site inspections
- Support in identifying data misinterpretation
We also provide expert opinions on quantum, delay, project management, disruption, and loss of productivity and profit, the technical questions that most often decide the outcome of a construction claim.
Most importantly, ALMC advises on the form and content a claim should take to achieve a timely, non-litigious resolution, including how to prepare persuasive position statements that support favorable, well-informed settlements. Our goal is always to help clients resolve disputes efficiently, minimizing the time and cost associated with extensive court or arbitration hearings wherever possible.
