Construction Disputes
Construction and real estate disputes sit at the heart of ALMC’s expertise. Our team provides indepth technical and legal advice on contractual documentation throughout the entire project lifecycle, from inception through to completion, with a clear focus on identifying legal and technical risk early and avoiding disputes before they arise.
Much of this work centers on the standard forms of contract used across the UAE construction industry. Mr. Al Marzooqi has good knowledge of FIDIC contracts, the internationally recognised suite of forms widely adopted on both public and private sector construction and engineering projects. This familiarity with FIDIC, alongside other standard and bespoke forms of construction contract, allows ALMC to advise clients on their contractual position from project inception, and to identify and resolve the disputes over variations, delay, and payment that so often arise in construction projects.
Our construction dispute services include
- Review and comment on bid documents, drawings, specifications and other contract documentation to assess a project's risk profile
- Review of legal documentation to strengthen a client's position should a dispute arise
- Advice on how changes to construction codes and standards may affect an ongoing project.
We also offer auditing services, examining project documentation and management processes to assess overall project health and provide practical recommendations that reduce risk and support timely completion.
ALMC’s track record reflects a strong emphasis on resolving construction and real estate disputes efficiently. Mr. Al Marzooqi has led major mediations including Emicool and ADC, and Seven Tides and Airolink, and was the first technical expert selected by disputing parties and appointed by DIAC to provide a technical opinion in a dispute. He was also awarded the “Best Settlement Expert” certificate by the Dubai Courts in 2013, underlining ALMC’s ability to help clients reach a commercially sensible outcome without the time and cost of a full hearing.
For clients seeking to strengthen internal capability, ALMC also draws on this same construction dispute expertise to deliver in-house training programs, helping management teams better understand and review construction contracts.
